报告摘要:
The lecture aims to address how the ASKO framework will be developed further. In the present approach, dialectical relationships between entrepreneurial factors, especially bundles of factors named as ‘poles’ pertaining to Ability, Support, Knowledge and Opportunity (ASKO), are proposed as a settling intellectual mechanism toward a more concise and coherent interpretation of complementary entrepreneurial mindsets. Empirical results for a minimal ASKO configuration are presented for different samples in Greece, Germany and Colombia illustrating certain conceptual predispositions of different populations toward business venturing and systematic shifts in perceptions induced by educational interventions. Thus, the ASKO dialectical framework can be used as an instrument able to capture the initial attitude of populations under attention and therefore the underlying educational needs. After an instructional intervention, ASKO captures “shifts” in attitude either at the individual or collective level.
The concept of entrepreneurial opportunity has been brought on the spotlight of entrepreneurial research through the seminal article of Shane and Venkatamaran in 2000. Research in the field of opportunity became a field of debate in 00s especially from the philosophical perspective. The present lecture presents empirical results that verify previous findings but also extend the concept of learning asymmetry in non-technological domains. The lecture aims to discuss the learning asymmetry as a source of opportunity perception and corresponding implications for both start-ups and organizational settings.
