As a senior academic I play a key role in promoting research and good practice both in academia and within the business community.I have recently served as Departmental Research Director and Deputy Director of Phd Programmes, where I was responsible for strategically positioning the doctoral programme, admissions, progression and enhancing the quality of doctoral research for the Business School.I serve on the School Research Directorate and have previously served on the School Accreditations Committee.Through the Africa Research Group (ARG),a global forum for scholars to address issues pertaining to Africa,in particular Africa-China business relations,I have helped foster debate on Africa, and cultivated individual and institutional partnerships in Asia and Africa for both teaching and research. The ARG has been holding biennial international conferences and research workshops since 2010.
I play a key role (working with senior management)to help shape the university’s strategy for Africa and other emerging markets, establishing partnerships with other institutions, exploring opportunities for joint-programmes,mentoring junior faculty, and strengthening the Business School’s standing in the community by working with local schools to motivate young people, particularly those from ethnic minorities and disadvantaged communities.
I helped design and launch a new MSc in Human Resource Management.
I served as an elected member of Senate at City University of Hong Kong,2002-2004.
Ad hoc reviewer for various funding bodies in UK,Africa and Canada, and Hong Kong RGC.
I was honoured as Academic of the Year 2011 by the Kenyan Community in Britain,UK Kenyan Achievers.
I was awarded the Outstanding Achievements in Education and Academia 2013 Award by the African Diaspora Awards, the African community in Britain

报告内容摘要:
Ken Kamoche is Professor of HRM and Organization Studies at the University of Nottingham where he also directs the Africa Research Group. Ken earned a DPhil in management at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. His work has been published widely in journals such as Human Relations, Journal of Management Studies, Organisation Studies, Information Systems Journal, Work, Employment and Society, Journal of International Business Studies and the International Journal of Human Resource Management. Ken has also authored/co-edited six books, including Handbook of Chinese Business and Management, (Routledge, 2023). He has been ranked 1.98% of Scientists in the World (Stanford University Top 2% Scientist Rankings).
Drawing from my own experience, I will examine some of the challenges of publishing in high-impact and top-tier journals, with a particular emphasis on qualitative research, and provide you some guidelines on how to navigate the research-to-publication process and become an influential researcher in your chosen field.
