报告内容摘要:
Bach’s talk provides practical guidance on how students and early career researchers can navigate the full publication process in top academic journals, from the early stage of generating promising research ideas to responding effectively to reviewers’ comments. It discusses how to identify research questions that are novel, meaningful, and publishable; how to position a study theoretically; and how to design a paper that makes a clear contribution to the literature. The session also examines journal selection strategies, including how to match a paper with the right outlet, understand journal expectations, and avoid common mistakes that lead to desk rejection. Finally, the talk offers advice on handling the review process, including how to interpret reviewer feedback, write persuasive response letters, and manage rejection and revision strategically. The session is designed to be highly interactive, combining practical examples, discussion, and opportunities for participants to reflect on their own research projects and publication challenges. The overall aim is to help students and early career researchers develop a clearer understanding of the publication journey and improve their chances of publishing in leading journals.
