Focusing on International Accreditation, Promoting Regional Development: AACSB Faculty Standards & Tables Seminar and Northeast China Member Institutions Seminar Successfully Concluded

On November 2–3, 2025, the "AACSB Faculty Standards & Tables Seminar and Northeast China Member Institutions Seminar," hosted by AACSB International and organized by School of Economics and Management (SEM) at Dalian University of Technology (DUT), was successfully held. Experts from AACSB and representatives from member institutions in Northeast China gathered to address key challenges in accreditation and explore pathways for mission-driven excellence in business education.

The first day featured an in-depth seminar led by Mr. Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer, Asia Pacific, Americas, and Membership, who also co-chaired the Business Accreditation Task Force in developing the 2020 business accreditation standards. Mr. Geoff Perry delivered a full-day authoritative interpretation of faculty standards and classification—a critical technical aspect of accreditation.

On November 3, the AACSB Northeast China Member Institutions Seminar opened formally. Attendees included Ms. Lily Bi, President and CEO of AACSB International; Mr. Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer, Asia Pacific, Americas, and Membership; Mr. Xu Guodong, AACSB Regional Head of East Asia; and Ms. Yang Xiaoyue, AACSB Membership Engagement Specialist.

Dean Ye Xin delivered a welcome address on behalf of DUT SEM and shared the School's internationalization explorations and practices.

Ms. Lily Bi thanked DUT SEM for its meticulous organization and reaffirmed AACSB’s commitment to building international bridges, regional cooperation and providing comprehensive support for member institutions in Northeast China.

A keynote speech titled "Benchmarking with Global Standards for A Better Business School" was delivered by Mr. Geoff Perry.


Mr. Xu Guodong provided a systematic analysis of the AACSB accreditation landscape in China. He broke down the key standards, processes, and review focuses, offering attendees a clear action plan for accreditation.


Ms. Ai Jingyuan, Director of International Cooperation and Accreditation at DUT SEM, shared the School’s journey under the theme "Mission-Driven, Continuous Improvement: SEM Internationalization and Accreditation".

The seminar served as a valuable platform for regional exchange and collaboration. Moving forward, leveraging AACSB’s global network will help accelerate innovation, deepen institutional capacity, and enhance the quality and international influence of business education in Northeast China.

During the seminar, AACSB also conferred DUT SEM with a re-accreditation certificate, recognizing SEM’s successful accreditation of the third continuous improvement review in 2025.
