The Office of National Philosophy and Social Science recently announced 2024 Major Project funding list of National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), which includes the project led by DUT SEM Professor Sun Xiaohua, focusing research on "Large AI Models-Driven Technical Innovation and Industrial Upgrading Strategies".

Large AI models, as a symbol of AI's transition from specialized to generalized applications, may trigger an unprecedented intelligent revolution, profoundly transforming human production and lifestyle. As China advances its high-quality development, leveraging large AI models to drive technological innovation and industrial upgrading has become a strategic priority. The project will explore large AI models to propose strategy upgrading for traditional and emerging industries, and establish governance mechanisms to accelerate the formation of new quality productive forces.

The Major Project of National Social Science Fund of China is the most generous, prestigious and highest-level funding category in China’s philosophy and social science fields. The approval of this project highlights the School’s academic innovation, foundational research strength, and commitment to serving national strategic needs.
