报告摘要:

The aims of my speech are four-fold: first, to address how to efficiently explore a research topic with applicable research methods; second, to share with the audience my observations at desk-review and review process, which deal with authors’ common mistakes in writing journal papers in terms of literature review, hypothesizing, questionnaire and survey, mathematical model setting, and discussions and implications; third, to highlight some tips for you to design better paper and to improve its quality, referring to my academic experiences and observations in retrospect over the last four decades; and finally, a couple of critical Q&A will be made, including “dos and don’ts” in the process of submitting and reviewing a paper and a question of “why is my paper rejected at the desk review of an editor-in-chief or associate editor of a journal less than an hour?” My speech would be helpful for young scholars improve their research performance on the road from designing to publishing a paper for a journal, avoiding others’ trials and errors.
